Senior Energy Advisor to the COP28 Presidency
In 2023, Yasin's expertise was leveraged on the global diplomatic stage as a Senior Energy Advisor for the COP28 Presidency. During his tenure at the Office of the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, he was a key architect of the historic "Tripling Renewable Energy and Doubling Energy Efficiency" pledge and co-authored the seminal report "Tripling Renewable Power and Doubling Energy Efficiency by 2030".
He was also instrumental in advancing the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter and the Industrial Decarbonization Alliance.
5 GW gas · 6 GW renewables · 25+ wind plants delivered
Across EMEA, Yasin has developed and built over 5 GW of gas-fired power plants and 6 GW of renewable energy assets — including hydro, solar, geothermal, and more than 25 wind power plants (exceeding 1 GW capacity).

Yasin led multi-sector multi-technology energy business development in Turkiye and held senior management roles, managing $1B+ EPC contracts for critical power and industrial infrastructure throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Yasin holds an Executive MBA and Bachelor's degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Middle East Technical University and Anadolu University. He is a graduate of GE's premier leadership development program (XLP) and a graduate of FEEL: A Disruptive Futures Program of Dubai Future Academy under Dubai Future Foundation. He is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School Online, where he completed the Entrepreneurship Essentials certificate program in 2021.

Yasin is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at UCAM University. His dissertation research focuses on Stakeholder Engagement and Carbon Management Effectiveness in Net Zero Energy Projects.

Yasin is actively involved in mentorship programs, collaborating with Masdar's Youth4Sustainability and Injaz UAE programs, empowering youth and fostering comprehensive personal and professional growth of the young people in the sustainability sector.
For the past four years, Yasin has served as Chapter Organizer of the Harvard Business School Online Dubai Chapter, a platform for more than 400 alumni across the MEA region.
He has served as Sustainability Committee Leader for Turkish Business Council Dubai and Northern Emirates, Sustainability Committee Member for International Women Board of Directors (IWBD).
